Sights + Sounds at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park

This Saturday night, August 4th, Midori is hosting a great Big Sonic Chill event called Sights + Sounds. It’s happening at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park. The evening will feature a variety of sensory pleasures.

You’ll be able to experience all of the amazing exhibits at the San Diego Museum of Art, including a new special exhibit called Contemporary Links, in which a modern artist, Alexandre Arrechea, has created his own work based on works in the museum’s permanent collection. It’s hard to sum it up in one sentence, but if you have some time check out SDMA's web-site for detailed info on Contemporary Links.

We’re also excited to bring two exciting musical experiences to the event as well. SSI, a local DJ/electronic collective will be playing tunes during “cocktail hour” in the rotunda and local Big Sonic Chill artists Starline Theorie will close the night with a live musical performance in the auditorium.

Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy a Trumer Pils and other adult beverages at one of the bars set-up around the museum. There will also be complimentary, light culinary treats served under the night sky of the sculpture garden. With food, drinks, live music and art, there will be a lot to experience all in the beauty of the San Diego Museum of Art.

Sights + Sounds is sure to be a one of a kind event and we hope you can make it there. Allman Brothers Pre-Show Festival

It's only a little over a month until the Allman Brothers Band returns to Piedmont Park for the first time in 37 years! The party starts on Friday night, September 7, at 8:00 p.m. with the Allman Brothers Pre-Show Festival, an outdoor festival outside the Pool Hall at 30 Irby Avenue in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia (behind the Roxy) with Bonobos Convergence (featuring Vaylor Trucks) and the Fly Brothers, the night before the big show at Piedmont Park. We've told you all about the unique music of Bonobos, and The Fly Brothers is an Atlanta-based funk/jam band comprised of Justin Powell on bass and vocals (formerly of Glass, Space Medicine and the Tony Tyler Trance), Stephen Hendrix on guitar (formerly of the Tony Tyler Trance) and Scott Phillips on drums (formerly of Wayside Riders). Telluride Blues & Brews Festival

One of the most scenic music festivals in the country, the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival takes place every September in the world-famous resort town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Telluride is a beautiful spot, and some of you may remember the Allman Brothers Band's fantastic performance there back in 2003. The game marks the first time new Bruins head coach Claude Julien faces his former Devils squad. Julien coached the Devils to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference before being replaced by GM Lou Lamoriello on April 2, 2007.

Boston recently acquired veteran goaltender Manny Fernandez from the Minnesota Wild. Other key Bruins players expected to play include Zdeno Chara, Glen Murray, Marc Savard, and Patrice Bergeron.

The New Jersey Devils are led by two-time Stanley Cup winning goalie Martin Brodeur.

In conjunction with the Peoria Civic Center's 25^th Anniversary celebration this weekend, the promoter for Art Garfunkel is offering $25 tickets for all remaining seats to see five-time Grammy winner Art Garfunkel, of the legendary duo Simon and Garfunkel, perform at the Peoria Civic Center Theater this Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 8:00 p.m.
