The Chicago Theatre Monthly
After a year and a half of planning, 7 days of rehearsal and 10 hours of fittings for nearly 50 models, Macy's Glamorama 2007 will come together on stage at The Chicago Theatre on Friday, August 24. Over the past eight years, the legendary fashion and music event has raised more than $2 million for the Art Institute of Chicago. This year, country meets couture with performances by Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and other members of MuzikMafia. Featured designers will include Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, John Varvatos, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and many more.
After the runway show, Glamorama guests will make their way to Macy's on State Street for the elaborate post-party. The seventh floor will be transformed into a chic urban rodeo spectacular featuring mechanical bull rides for charity, interactive bar dancers, branding tattoos and more. Guests will boot scoot to the sounds of famed celebrity music master DJ Ruckus and dine on top nosh from Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef and Executive Chef of Bon Appetit magazine.
