Celebrate Philippine Independence and Culture at Pagdiriwang
Two days of art, music and dance celebrate the culture and accomplishments of Filipino-Americans at Pagdiriwang June 9 and 10 at Seattle Center.

The festival brings the Filipino community in the region together each year in one of the largest celebrations of the culture's history and heritage in the Northwest. The event includes an art exhibit of works by Filipino and Filipino-American artists, a film festival, hip-hop performances, health fair and entertainment focusing on the traditional culture of the Philippines.

Now in its 20th year, the festival draws more than 5,000 people to the exhibits and entertainment in Center House and concerts on the Center House stage and Mural Amphitheatre. Pagdiriwang traditionally commemorates Filipino independence from Spain.

This year, the celebration pays tribute to Filipino veterans who served with U.S. forces in World War II and highlights the veterans' struggle to receive full veteran benefits from the U.S. government. The issue is currently the subject of several versions of proposed legislation in the U.S. Congress.

Celebrate Pagdiriwang 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday, June 9 and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, June 10. A pageant and dancing will be held in Center House 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday.
